I’ll never forget what my instructor told us in one of my very first classes at the Art Institute of Colorado. He said, ‘Photography businesses are one of the top 3 businesses that fail.’ Wow. That really hit me. I had just moved to Colorado to get my degree in photography and chances were that it wasn’t going to work out for me.
This leads me to the New Year! I have been looking forward to 2016 for awhile now. Not because the past year was one I wanted to forget, but because this is the year that we are celebrating 10 years in business! It sounds so cliche to say how fast it has gone by, but it really has flown by. I guess that happens when you are doing something you truly love and have a passion for. I can’t imagine doing any other job than photographing and documenting your lives to be cherished for years to come.
I look back on these past ten years with so much gratitude. I can’t thank you enough for inviting me into your homes to photograph your new baby. For trusting me to be the only person in the room with you as you are about to walk down the aisle and say, ‘I do.’ For documenting your growing families, and the highlights of your life. I am so appreciative and I look forward to the next 10 years!
