Urban Downtown Reno Wedding | Renaissance Hotel

I loved getting to photograph in downtown Reno for Haakon and Stephanie’s wedding.  So often, I’m photographing at Lake Tahoe or a golf course.  It was a nice change to photograph in an urban environment for their wedding at First United Methodist and reception at the new Renaissance Hotel in downtown Reno.

Haakon and Stephanie were just a joy to photograph.  Their day was a celebration of their family officially coming together and becoming one.  Their story is such a neat one.  These two had gone on a date and then afterwards ran into each other at their kids school.  Haakon jokes that he thought Stephanie was stocking him, but as it turns out their two boys were good friends at school.  Their daughters were the same age as well and although they have very different personalities, got along well too!  How fun it must be to have your friend become your brother or sister!  Congratulations to you all!  I had such a great time photographing your BIG day!

We started the day off with Haakon getting ready at Derby Supply Company.  He was joined by the boys and his father and soon to be father-in-law . . .

Stephanie got ready just a few blocks away at the Renaissance Hotel right on the Truckee River in downtown Reno . . .

The girls helped her get ready.  It was the sweetest thing!

Haakon and Stephanie wanted to do a First Sight at the Believe sign in downtown Reno next to the river . . .

We took pictures at a few different places on the way to the church downtown . . .

. . . but we also made sure to duck into a place indoors to take a few because it was so hot outside!  These were taken inside the old Post Office downtown.

I really LOVED the flowers from Bumblebee Blooms.  They were so unique!

After a few portraits, it was time for the ceremony at First United Methodist church.

After the ceremony, everyone headed back to the Renaissance Hotel for the reception.  The hotel has so many great indoor spots to take pictures.  I could have photographed there for hours!  Here are a few of my favorite spots where we took pictures of Haakon and Stephanie after the wedding . . .

More flowers from Bumblebee Blooms and a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes . . .

And one last photo.  I just LOVED this elevator at the Renaissance Hotel!

Congratulations Haakon and Stephanie!  Thanks for sharing your day and love for one another with me!
