Idlewild Park Wedding | Reno Wedding Photography

I have been to Idlewild Park A LOT.  I go there often in the summer for Food Truck Friday’s and take my daughter to play at the playground and ride the train when the weather is nice.  However, I’ve never really walked around too much and was pleasantly surprised by how great of a venue it is for weddings!  Huge trees, a rose garden, and an indoor reception venue with large picturesque windows.  What’s not to love?  It makes me even more excited for another wedding I have coming up there again in the fall.

Having such a great location for photography was a dream, but so were James and Stacy.  The way they smiled at each other melted my heart.  The smiles they had on their faces the entire day was so great and there was a lot of laughter and giggles going on.  They were so excited to be married and I’m so glad I got to document their day every step of the way!

The afternoon started with Stacy getting ready at Salon del Rio

Then we headed over to Idlewild Park for portraits prior to the ceremony…

James and Stacy opted to do a First Sight and take portraits prior to the ceremony.  Here are their reactions to seeing each other in the Rose Garden on their wedding day…

We walked around to a couple locations among the roses and lush greenery…

A love how they made each other laugh.  They were totally ecstatic!

The moment I arrived at Idlewild Park I thought to myself, “I have to incorporate this huge tree into a picture.”  May just be my favorite photograph of the day.

I could photograph around Idlewild Park all day!

James and Stacy chose to have a very small ceremony surrounded by their family…

I just love this image during the recessional moments after being pronounced Husband and Wife.

Stealing a kiss at the reception!

The California Building proved to be a fantastic venue to photograph in.  The huge windows with beautiful natural light flowing in was fantastic for their first dance..

…followed by a few toasts.

We finished the day with a few more portraits as the sun was setting.  What a great way to end a wedding day!
