Lake Tahoe Engagement Session

I met up with Tim and Susan along the north shore of Lake Tahoe for their recent engagement session.  Although we had an overcast day to take pictures with no blue sky, I love the feel of these photographs.  They almost resemble portraits on the beach along the ocean the way the sky and water fade because of the all the clouds in the sky.

Tim and Susan drove all the way from San Jose to take engagement pictures.  They love Lake Tahoe and come to the area often to play in the great outdoors.  It makes sense that they would choose to get married at the West Shore Cafe  at Lake Tahoe next spring.  After taking these engagement portraits, I can’t wait to photograph their wedding.  It will be here before we know it!

We started the session off taking pictures with just a hint of the beach in the background as we waited for all the beach-goers to pack up so they wouldn’t be in the photographs.  I love Susan’s white sundress-a perfect choice for engagement pictures!

‘Hey do you mind laying on this rock?’  Super uncomfortable, but so worth it for pictures!!!

One of the reasons I love photographing at Lake Tahoe is all the huge boulders that make up part of the landscape.

After a few pictures near the beach, we walked to another location for a few pictures among the evergreen trees…

After a quick change of clothes, we took some pictures on the beach since there weren’t as many people around…

These two know how to have a good time!

The sun peeked out between the clouds just as we were finished up pictures.   And that’s a wrap!
