Matt and Rachel were married at Toiyabe Golf Club last week but this story started five years ago. This love story began at Outback Steakhouse. He was a bus boy and she was a hostess. Their love has crossed oceans and taken them to new countries as Matt is in the army and they now live in Germany. I love that they came back home to get married where it all began.
Toiyabe Golf Club is nestled at the base of the Sierra Mountains in Washoe Valley between Reno and Carson City making it an ideal location with sweeping views of the mountains. I haven’t photographed at Toiyabe Golf Club in a few years so it was fun for me to get back there and photograph the love these two share for one another. When I photographed Matt and Rachel together, it was amazing how I saw another layer of each of them. They bring something out of one another that others around them don’t and they truly light each other up! Congratulations Matt and Rachel-I hope that you look back at these photographs and remember a new beginning and the best day of your life!

I love this one of Rachel. I think it really hit her that it was her wedding day when she put her dress on!
Rachel was a stunning bride! We really tried to incorporate her veil in her portraits-it was her mother’s!

A couple ceremony details…
The sun peeked out between the clouds for a dramatic sky during the ceremony at the base of the mountains at Toiyabe Golf Club.
Although the ceremony was small and intimate, it was full of laughter!
Immediately following the ceremony, we snuck out to get a few portraits of Matt and Rachel around Toiyabe Golf Club.
It was cloudy most of the day, but we chased down the sunlight that came out for a few minutes in a golf cart!

Rachel requested photographs with sparklers, so we ended the evening with these images. I haven’t taken pictures with sparklers in SIX YEARS!!! Nearly every wedding I photographed when I lived in Texas had sparklers, but venues here do not let you use them because of the fire danger. Toiyabe Golf Club is the only place I know of where you can use them.
